This is a video that went viral from the Dove Soap campaign to redefine beauty. Although put out by a major corporation, it does to some extent attack consumerism.
For more videos and the whole campaign, check out their web site and read the Wikipedia article.

Home
Hey everyone. There is a YouTube page I'd like you to visit. It features a film titled Home that is only up until June 14th. To me, Home is different from videos on climate change I had seen before. It is a moving piece that took a naturalistic and pragmatic approach, presenting life and climate change as if the world was looking down. Arthus-Bertrand establishes (on my viewing) a way of thinking about human existence that I just did not have before. (Lol, once he got to cities, I hated them during the film). Time permitting, please see it through. Note that this film leans on a depressive tone, so I would not want to discourage anyone from finding more exciting videos and articles.

"The Sixth Extinction?"
Elizabeth Kolbert has a new article in the May 25th issue of The New Yorker. If you don't subscribe, you can get the issue this week at the newstands, or read it in any library. You can think of this article, "The Sixth Extinction?", as the latest chapter of the book we're reading. Three chapters of that were originally New Yorker articles.

An Inconvenient Truth, continued
If you haven't seen Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, you should do so right away. If you have Netflix, you can watch it on Instant Play. Here's a recent talk by Gore that picks up where the movie left off, from my favorite website, ted.com.

The Girl Effect
Here's another short but effective video that went viral on the web about the power of the individual to bring about change.
